I phoned Mom yesterday on my way back from Harrisville, thinking that maybe we could bring her some dinner - like we have done many times. But she declined our visit because she said she had just had breakfast. It was 4:30 PM. She reported that she went to church with Rock and then went out to breakfast. I could not get through to her that this must have occurred much earlier in the day. She swore that she had just had breakfast. Whatever...
She is worried about the driving thing. We are waiting on the next letter from State of Michigan with details about her tests. These tests would be a written test or an actual driving test or both. She has told me a number of times that Rock took all the paperwork home with her and now she is worried about the test. I know that Rock did not take the letter with her because I left it at Mom's with a note across it to "Watch for an envelope from State of Michigan". Hoping that she will not dispose of it before one of us can read it!
I continue to thank Andie and Chrissie for all the visits!

Took Mom to Sec of State to renew her driver's license. She did not pass the vision part. She either couldn't see or didn't understand the peripheral vision part of the test. They would not renew her license without a vision test. She says that she goes to Gysel Optical and he, in fact, remembered her. Leads me to believe she was a pain in the ass when she got her glasses. Andie is taking her for a comprhensive vision test tomorrow as we have her convinced that she doe not have a valid license, which she doesn't. Of course, she thinks that I have manipulated this whole thing, I wish I was that diabolical. Her license expires tomorrow. She told us that she didn't care if she had a license, she would drive anyway since they were playing games with her at the sec of state. If she doesn't pass this eye thing, I say we get the car our of her garage. i am not sure we can trust her. She is very angry and was insistent that they were not administering the test correctly. I looked in the machine and could see the blinking lights. So thanks to Andie for falling on this grenade. We also put Hans down today.. . Sad day for us. Good friend, good dog.
Oh, Rock and family. I am sorry to hear about Hans. I am sad for all of you. I know you loved him and he knew you loved him.
Thanks to Andie for handling the vision test. Geysel knows her because he charged her up the waz for those glasses and I had to take her back there two or three times before she was happy with them. I think we should wait until we get a note from the Secretary of States office about her driving test.
